The Passive Voice

The Passive Voice




We use passive voice : 

1-To give more focus to the action or the idea .

2-When the person or the thing that does the action ( Subject ) is not important .


Form :



 Subject  (be +P.P) .........




Examples :

1-Cotton is grown in Egypt .

2-Petra was built many years ago by Nabateens.





Present Simple Passive Examples:








Note:

To change from present simple active into present simple passive :

1-we divide the sentence into ( Subject verb object ).
2-we omit the subject .
3-We begin the passive sentence with the new subject ( the object ) .
4-We use  verb to be ( am,is,are,am not ,isn't,aren't) + p.p  .
5-We use (by+subject) at the end of sentence when the person or the thing that does the action is   important.




Past Simple Passive Examples:






Note:
